Essential Measurements for Boy's School Uniform
For the most accurate fit, stand straight and measure over light undergarments, not over heavy clothing. Keep the tape measure snug but not tight.
| Measurement | Garment | How to Measure | Key Tips |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chest | Shirts, Blazers, Sweaters | Measure around the fullest part of the chest, right under the arms and across the shoulder blades. | Keep the tape measure horizontal. |
| Neck | Shirts (for collar size) | Measure around the base of the neck (where the collar rests). | Insert one finger between the tape and the neck for a comfortable fit. |
| Waist | Pants, Shorts | Measure around the natural waistline (often just below the navel). | Remove belt before measuring. |
| Inseam | Pants, Shorts | Measure from the crotch seam down the inside of the leg to the point where the hem will rest. | Alternatively, measure the inseam on a well-fitting pair of their current pants. |
| Sleeve Length | Shirts, Blazers | Measure from the center of the back of the neck, over the top of the shoulder, and down to the wrist bone. | Keep the arm relaxed at the side. |
| Height | All Items (for sizing class) | Measure from the top of the head to the floor while standing against a wall, without shoes. | This is often the best first indicator for determining size. |
General Sizing Tips
- Growth: If the measurement is between two sizes, consider ordering the larger size to allow for growth and a looser fit.
- Fit Type: Be aware of fit options like Slim (narrower waist) or Husky/Plus (wider waist) when ordering pants.
